History & Mythology

Bootes has been known by many different cultures and represents many different things for these cultures throughout history. In Greek mythology, Bootes represents a bear guard. Bootes is a larger constellation, which only 12 constellations larger. Bootes is also quite easy to find in the northern sky, as its similar to the shape of a flying Kite. Bootes is home to the star Arcturus, which is very bright and one of the nearest stars to Earth.
