History & Mythology

Volans is a small southern sky constellation. Introduced in the 1590’s by Dutch navigators. Volans is noticeable sue to the bright stars in the Carina constellation, and represents a Flying Fish. An interesting feature of Volans are some bright double stars that are visible through a basic telescope.
