Ophiuchus has been known by many different cultures and represents many different things for these cultures throughout history. In Greek mythology, Ophiuchus represents a healer called Aesculapius who was said to be able to revive the dead. In the night sky the healer is holding a snake, which is a symbol for healing. The constellation is large however not very prominent. Ophiuchus sits between constellations Scorpius & Sagittarius.
