History & Mythology

Microscopium is a small faint constellation with faint stars. Microscopium is one of the 14 constellations that was introduced in the 18th century by French astronomer Nicholas Louis De Lacaille. The constellation is roughly rectangular in shape with no real features outside of some faint galaxies that can only be detected by professional astronomers. Microscopium sits south of constellation Capricornus and between constellations Piscis Austrinus & Sagittarius.
