Sculptor is one of the 88 constellations within the celestial sphere.

History & Mythology

Sculptor is one of the newer constellations that was introduced in the 18th century by French astronomer Nicolas Louis De Lacaille. The constellation represents a Mallet, a Chisel and a Marble Head on a stand. Home to some interesting galaxies, the constellation is very faint, and can be found to the east of the very bright star Formalhaut in Piscis. The stars in Sculptor are not named.
