Planets – Earth

Earth as you know is our very own planet and is the only known planet currently that supports life. Earth is a planet in the solar system and is the 3rd closest planet to the sun. The distance from the sun to Earth is over 90 million miles. Earth is the 5th largest planet in the solar system, which makes Earth the 4th smallest planet in the solar system. Earth is one of the four planets in the solar system that is a rocky planet. These rocky planets are called ‘Terrestrial Planets’.
We know that the Earth was formed about 4.5 billion years ago, and has existed ever since. Earth’s orbit around the sun is the 3rd fastest orbit of all the solar system planets.
