Caelum is one of the newer constellations, and is quite small and insignificant when I comes to constellations. This constellation was found and introduced into the celestial sphere in the 18th century by French astronomer Nicolas Louis. While small and hard to find and recognize in the night sky, Caelum does have does have however a number of deep-sky objects.
